I'm running for Pitt Meadows City Council in the 2022 election. I will work together with the mayor, city councillors, city staff and citizens, to help make good decisions for the future of Pitt Meadows.
I would like to acknowledge that Pitt Meadows is located on the traditional territory of the Katzie First Nation.
The New Westminster & District Labour Council (NWDLC) is a community-based central labour organization representing trade union members at the local level. They are a chartered organization of the Canadian Labour Congress, Canada's national voice for workers and their families.
Their goal is to ensure that our communities and our elected representatives at all levels of government in Canada respond to the needs of the people and families.
They work together with partners like United Way and the Union Protein Project to deliver information, services and programs to build a stronger and more compassionate society, one that supports the needs of working families and all people.
I promise to be clear, concise and act with integrity.
My goal is to help retain the community feel we all love, but to balance development in order to provide the needed services and infrastructure.
I have lived in Pitt Meadows for 14 years with my husband Chad, our two sons, and our two dogs.
My kids go to school here. My oldest plays baseball here and my youngest dances competitively for a local studio.
We paddle on the Alouette, run and cycle on the dike system, use the off-leash dog parks and City recreation facilities.
This is our home.
If elected, you can be sure I will be informed, prepared and ready to handle all topics that come before council.
I’m not running for the pay cheque, I'm running to make a difference.

I have been a municipal employee for over 15 years, working in another city as a 911 Dispatcher handling in-progress emergencies. This gives me a unique perspective and first hand knowledge of the challenges first responders face every day. As Pitt Meadows transitions to an autonomous RCMP detachment and the Pitt Meadows Fire Hall nears completion, I trust that my experience will prove valuable as we move forward in improving public safety here in our city.
I have also worked in the Recreation Department in two other cities, seeing first hand the difference and impact city programs make in the lives of residents.
I have owned two small businesses with my family, right here in Pitt Meadows. We sold our first business (a CrossFit gym) six years ago, and it's still operating in Pitt Meadows today. Our second business is a small seasonal business we operate with our two children in the spring and summer.
I am a proud, active member of this community. I stay engaged through many volunteering roles, including:
Head Coach of the Junior Boys' Volleyball Team at Pitt Meadows Secondary
Creation of this team brought boys volleyball back to Pitt Meadows for the first time in 25 years. The team had a successful inaugural season, qualifying for the Fraser North Regional Tournament.
The Active Transportation Advisory Committee Member
The Committee reviews priorities and policies regarding all types of transportation in Pitt Meadows to advise council how to best protect, educate and promote accessibility for cycling and walking in our city.
Economic Development Advisory Committee Member
The committee was formed after the success of the 2020 Economic Resiliency Task Forced formed during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Committee advise Council and staff on growing our local economy and promoting tourism in Pitt Meadows.
I truly believe that in order to get things done, our council needs to be able to work together. Our current council has accomplished an incredible amount, especially during a pandemic, and in very difficult situations left for them from previous councils.
I'm running because I think I can work together with members of this exceptional council and the mayor. I want to add my experience, values and voice to help shape Pitt Meadows.
There is no place in our community for hate or discrimination. Everyone should feel safe, welcome, seen and accepted.
Everyone needs to be treated as a valued member of this community.
The best part of Pitt Meadows is the residents. In the 14 years I have lived here, I have watched residents band together in difficult times to make sure others in need are taken care of. During the pandemic people came together to make sure their neighbours and small businesses were still thriving. Sandbagging during flooding and offering cool spots during the heat dome show the community's commitment to each other.
Our community works together and I think this needs to be fostered and celebrated.
